The conference dedicated to the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the renowned writer, playwright, journalist Oralkhan Bokei has started in Astana. Eminent figures of culture, science, writers and intellectuals have gathered in the National Academic Library.
During the conference, Bauyrzhan Omarov, the Advisor to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, has congratulated on the anniversary and presented an official congratulatory letter on behalf of the President, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
«Oralkhan Bokei is a unique personality who has made a great contribution to the expansion of the horizons and spirituality of the nation. From the moment when the novice writer first entered the world of literature, he caught the fancy of readers with his highly artistic works. The writer’s masterpiece legacy was translated into many foreign languages, his plays were popular with the audience. The artistic journey, civic position, and active qualities of the owner of the outstanding talent «Altai Kerbugy» is always an example for young people. His rich literary heritage will continue to be spiritual food for many generations,» the President’s congratulatory letter says.
A solemn ceremony of awarding the jubilee medal to the 80th anniversary of Oralkhan Bokei took place within the framework of the conference. During the conference, the following persons took floor: Sagymbai Zhumagul, the scientist, member of the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan, Aldan Smaiyl, the writer, publicist, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan, Tursyn Zhurtbai, the Doctor of Philology, Professor and Nurtore Zhusip, the journalist, publicman.
The conference is held as part of a large-scale celebration of the writer’s anniversary, initiated by the Sustainable Rural Development Fund with the support of businessmen of Katon-Karagai district.
«For several years, the Sustainable Rural Development Fund has been implementing many projects on the scale of the republic. In our projects in regions, we have given preference to strategic, ecological, and tourist destinations. Starting this year, we decided to focus on culture as well. Because we tried to consider the basis of sustainable development not only from the point of view of education and economic development, but also national values. That is why we decided to pay great attention to the anniversary of Oralkhan Bokei, the renowned writer, playwright and poet. The anniversary, which began with Katon-Karagai, continues today in Astana. As you know, the solemn events will end in Almaty with the republican aitys,» Serik Zhunussov, the Head of the Sustainable Rural Development Fund said.
The ceremonial events in honor of the writer will continue on September 28-30 in Almaty and will end with the republican aitys. On September 30, at the Alatau Theater, everyone will be able to enjoy the skills of famous aityskers of Kazakhstan.
