The First Expedition to Has Taken Place as Part of the “Katon-Karagay – Boundaries of Worlds” Land Art Project

We continue to talk about our new interesting Land Art project. This year, artists and architects will go on a special expedition to explore the area and feel the atmosphere of Katon-Karagay, its nature and history.

At the beginning of the month, the first expedition has taken place as part of the “Katon-Karagay – Boudaries of Worlds” Land Art project together with Yerbosyn Meldibekov, Dastan Kozhakhmetov - curator of the project, Zhanna Kadirova - Ukrainian artist, and Totan Kuzembayev - Russian architect.

The artists visited the Old Austrian Road, the Berel mounds, Shubaragash and Arshaty villages, the Dembel stone. They were astonished by the picturesque landscapes and beauties, culture and history of Katon-Karagay. We went home to bring everything we saw to sketches and drafts for future creations. The second expedition will take place in September!

At the first stage of our “Katon-Karagay – Boundaries of Worlds” Land Art project, land art objects will be created along the so-called “Old Austrian” or “Austrian Road”, within the boundaries of Katon-Karagay district. The opening of the modern sculpture park is planned for the autumn of 2024.

We hope we will be able to create a unique atmosphere that will allow residents and guests of our district to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city and immerse themselves in the world of land art.
