The republican aitys has been held at Theater of Traditional Art “Alatau” in Almaty as part of the celebration of the anniversary of the writer, playwright and journalist, Oralkhan Bokei. The famous aitysker, Mukhtar Niyazov, became the owner of the grand Prix of the republican aitys and was awarded a certificate in the amount of KZT2.5 million. Khaziret Berdikhan took 1st place, Shugaiyp Sezimkhan and Zhansaya Musina shared 2nd place, and Serik Khuangan, Yerzhan Amirov and Tolegen Zhamanov shared 3rd place.
The event was attended by 14 aityskers, including: Zhansaya Musina, Serik Kрuangan, Aspanbek Shugatayev, Shugaiyp Sezimkhan, Khaziret Berdikhan, Mukhtar Niyazov, Ardabek Akbaba, Nurzat Karukyzy, Meyirbek Sultankhan, Akniyet Zhubanysh, Tolegen Zhamanov, Yerzhan Amirov and Farkhat Marat. Amanzhol Altai became the host of aitys. The event also included the presentation of commemorative medals for the 80th anniversary of Oralkhan Bokei.
“Today a wonderful holiday has been presented to all Almaty residents, we see how the residents of the city missed aitys: the hall was full, the audience did not leave from morning to evening. It is gratifying that the participants themselves thoroughly prepared for aitys, a lot of words were said today about Oralkhan Bokei himself and about his works. By the way, as you know, Oralkhan Bokei himself was the organizer of aitys several times, so I think such an event is very symbolic,” Amanzhol Altai, the public man said.
During the breaks of performances of the participants of aitys, the audience could enjoy the performance of Yedil Kussaiynov, as well as a theatrical production on the theme of Oralkhan Bokei “Kar Kyzy”.

Festive events in honor of the 80th anniversary of the birth of the writer started in Katon-Karagay district. The main event within the framework of the anniversary was the opening of the house-museum in Shyngystai village, the birthplace of the writer. The house where Oralkhan Bokei lived, was bought for KZT10 million at the expense of entrepreneur, Serik Tolukpayev, and turned into a museum and handed over to the state. In addition, the plein-air was organized, where artists inspired by works of Oralkhan Bokei and the beauty of Katon-Karagay created 50 sketches.
At the conference dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Oralkhan Bokei in the National Library of Astana, the book “Sholpandai Tan Aldynda Tuyp - Batty” was presented, containing the works of the writer and memories of him. The cycle of events dedicated to the anniversary continued in Almaty, where the writer spent his youth and was buried. A visit to the grave of Oralkhan Bokei took place here and a funeral repast was given. In the National Library of Almaty, scientists and public men took part in the conference “Or Altaidyn Askak Zhyrshysy”.
