EdCrunch 2023: How Will Rural Schools in Kazakhstan Develop?

The 10th anniversary EdCrunch conference has started in Almaty. The key theme of the conference is equal access to quality education for everyone. Over 350 speakers – leading experts in the field of education in seven thematic tracks - will take floor at the conference site for two days.

This year AITAS Holding is the general sponsor of the conference. Since 2019, the Holding and its founder, Serik Tolukpayev, have been actively engaged in solving problems in the field of rural education and creating an education ecosystem as a whole.
“For us, when creating an educational ecosystem, educational platforms that unite all interested parties are important. One of the best platforms in the country is EdCrunch, which we have been supporting for several years,” Serik Tolukpayev notes.
The Fund for Sustainable Development of Education is the general partner of the EdCrunch conference. Teachers of 86 hub schools participating in the FSDE projects from the network of hub schools in Kazakhstan had the opportunity to participate in the conference in offline and online formats.
“For 10 years, the conference has become a key platform in Central Asia and the near abroad on education issues. This year, the main theme of the conference is dedicated to providing equal and high-quality access for everyone, which certainly coincides with the mission of the Fund for Sustainable Development of Education. Today, more than a hundred representatives of rural schools are at EdCrunch, and thousands more rural teachers have received online access to the conference. It is here that they can get new ideas for improving education in rural areas,” Daniyar Toktarbayev, the Director of the Fund for Sustainable Development of Education, says.
Teachers of rural schools will attend master classes for two days from such specialists as Hugh Dellar, Professor at the University of Westminster in London, Nunzio Quacquarelli, Founder and President of QS (Quacquarelli Symonds, UK), Christophe Fenivesi, Director of the STEAM educational network Experience Workshop, the world’s leading expert in the field of STEAM, Ben Furman - a psychiatrist, author and teacher of problem-oriented therapy, co-director of the Helsinki Institute of Short-term Therapy, Finland, Sherry Lassiter is President and Chief Managing Director of The Fab Foundation, USA, etc.
One of the main issues of the conference will be rural education and improving the quality of educational services rendered. The discussion platform “Rural School or Over Barriers” will also be devoted to this issue: how to realize this one chance for success in life?”. In this panel discussion, the Director of the Fund for Sustainable Development of Education, Daniyar Toktarbayev, will take part and share his vision of the development of rural schools and tell how the Fund contributes to schools in the search and training of qualified teachers.

Recall that EdCrunch has been held since 2014. The purpose of the conference is to present the main vectors of development in the field of educational technologies and possibilities of using digital tools that transform learning processes. This year, AITAS Holding became the general sponsor of the conference, and the Fund for Sustainable Development of Education became the general partner.
