More than 900 Participants from Six Countries to Be Expected at the Festival of Robotics and Innovative Technologies “RoboLand 2023”

Following the qualifying competitions, the finalists of the VIII International Festival have been determined. This year, more than 900 participants representing 328 teams from Kazakhstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan and Georgia will compete in programming skills and solving robotics problems.

The VIII International Festival of Robotics, Programming and Innovative Technologies “RoboLand 2023” will be held in Karaganda on November 3-4 at the Zhastar Sports complex. The organizer of the Festival is the Department of Education of Karaganda region with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Association of Manufacturers and Suppliers of Educational Equipment of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Fund for Sustainable Development of Education is the official partner of the project.

AITAS Holding is the general sponsor of the festival. Support of educational projects is an investment in the future of the country, Serik Tolukpayev, the founder of the Holding, believes:

“Progressive technologies allow us to improve the efficiency and quality of production. Process automation is becoming a key factor in achieving sustainable development and successful competitive advantage. We know this from our own experience – AITAS Holding, being the largest holding in Kazakhstan in the field of agriculture, pays great attention to the most innovative methods and developments in process management. Poultry farms, which are under the management of our Holding, are fully equipped with an automated process control and management system, and Aitas Agro agricultural holding, which is engaged in the production of agricultural crops in East Kazakhstan and North Kazakhstan regions, is one of the leaders in Agritech, which successfully implements the latest digital technologies for the management of production and management processes,” - Serik Tolukpayev says.

This year FSDE is the official partner of the festival. Following the qualifying stage, the competition commission identified 328 teams, 34 of which represent educational institutions of neighboring countries. 35 teams will also represent a network of rural support schools participating in the projects of the Fund for Sustainable Development of Education (FSDE).
“It is a great honor for us to be involved in the festival. Robotics is the heart of the digital economy and industry 4.0, and we believe that the inclusion of robotics in curricula is an integral part of the education of a new generation. Participation in Roboland gives students a unique opportunity to develop the skills necessary to work with advanced technologies and prepare for future professions related to robotics, automation and artificial intelligence. It is gratifying that today not a few teams represent rural schools,” Daniyar Toktarbayev, Director of the Fund for Sustainable Development of Education, says.
This year, not only children and teenagers take part in the competitions, but also teachers who will demonstrate their skills in the “Roboland Kazakhstan” category. In general, the competitions will be held in 17 categories: “Assemble a robot”, “Sumo”, “Labyrinth”, “3D Prototyping”, “Robot Show”, etc.

The main goals of the festival are to encourage children’s scientific and technical creativity, popularize innovative activities, exchange best practices in the field of educational robotics and identify the strongest robotic teams.
