The other day, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the birth of the famous writer Oralkhan Bokey, a native of Katon-Karagai, the 1st stage of the republican plein-air was held in the district.
15 artists from Aktobe, Astana, Almaty, Ust-Kamenogorsk and Tarbagatai came to the meeting.
Chunchalinov Abai Kabdullinuly, Bayandin Adilgali Sarsenuly, Nursadikov Kudash Daulekhanuly, Bekberdinova Gulnar Migrzovyly, Beissenova Rada Tolgatovyny, Kaboke Oralbek, Zhurgenov Alisher Myrzabaiuly, Kalmakhanov Madihan Seitmakhanuly, Nurgozhayev Almas Tolegenuly, Zhakishev Yerkebulan Mautanuly, Kairkhan Madi Beiskhanuly, Nurgosadykov Yeshanuly, Niyazbekov Adilet Bolatuly, Adilbek Kuanysh Kabidollauly, Burdesbekov Bakytnur Baikanuly visited their native village of the writer, Shyngystai, as well as Berel, rich in history, where they wrote sketches on the Altai slopes. The best artists were awarded a cash prize on behalf of the sponsor of the plein-air — the Founder of the Sustainable Development Fund of the Katon-Karagai district, Serik Tolukpayev.

After a three-day plein-air, a special open-air exhibition was organized. Thanks to the event, the district fund was replenished with 14 paintings and 30 sketches. A special exhibition of these works will be held on August 25, during the celebration of the writer's anniversary.
The events organized on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the writer, Oralkhan Bokey, will be held with the support of local entrepreneurs.
