Educational tour to Kyrgyzstan

At the end of August, team from Fund for Sustainable Rural Development and Sustainable Education Development Fund within the framework of “Rural School powered by NIS” project made the tour to Kazakhstan, to get to know our partners and explore the Bilimkana network of schools.

The main purpose of the trip was to study the experience of rural schools and camps. Next year we are preparing a new project - children's holiday-camp under the secondary school in the Uryl village in the East Kazakhstan region.

Our team has met with the founder of the network Bilimkana - Tolondu Toichubaev, has visited 4 Bilimkana schools, and has got acquainted with the activities of the children's camp under the Bilimkana Shabdan village school.

Bilimkana is the largest network of private schools in Kyrgyzstan, which has 13 institutions. And only two of them are in Bishkek, and all the rest are in the villages. Each Bilimkana school is unique. For example, in the small Kant town, the school is called “Japanese”, where children, in addition to an advanced program in math and English, study the Japanese language and culture of Japan. The most high school graduates enter this country.

Our team has continued its long and rich trip by studying the experience of private schools in Almaty: Tamos education, New general school, Hayleiburry, Hightech Academy, Prometheus. We will tell you about them in the next publication.
