New Music School Building Opened in Ulan District

On April 18, a momentous and joyful event took place for children, parents, and educators in the village of Kasym Kaisenov, the administrative center of Ulan District — the grand opening of a brand-new, spacious, and modern music school building.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Enlightenment of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Gani Beisembayev, and the Akim of East Kazakhstan Region, Nurymbet Saktaganov.

According to the Minister, this is a significant milestone for Ulan District, offering great opportunities for artistically gifted children to explore their talents, nurture their interest in the arts, and receive a high-quality supplementary education.

I wholeheartedly congratulate you on the opening of this new music school — a cradle of talent that paves the way for the younger generation’s bright future. It is especially meaningful that this event coincides with the 30th anniversary of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan and the upcoming 80th anniversary of Victory Day.

During the National Kurultai, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized the importance of developing supplementary education as a key component of raising well-rounded youth. He noted that education and upbringing must go hand in hand, and the ‘Adal Azamat’ program will serve as a foundation for cultivating an honest, well-educated generation aligned with national values,” said the Minister.

East Kazakhstan Region currently leads the nation in supplementary education coverage, with 94% of children participating in additional learning programs.

Previously, the music school was housed within the local Center for Children’s Creativity. With the completion of its own standalone facility — fully equipped, spacious, and modern — both students and teachers now have a dedicated environment for creative development.

The partnership between the school and the Sustainable Rural Development Fund began in 2019. That year, the school received a variety of instruments including flutes, digital pianos, saxophones, alto saxophones, guitars, cellos, violins, prima qobyz, and dombras. In 2021, the inventory was expanded to include traditional Kazakh instruments such as sybyzgy, saz syrnay, shankobyz, and others.

To support the professional growth of teachers, the Found also initiated a special training program led by renowned Kazakh composer Edil Khussainov.

As a continuation of this long-standing collaboration, representatives of the Foundation were invited as honorary guests to attend the school’s opening ceremony.

The new facility includes 14 classrooms, a choreography hall equipped with mirrors and barres, and a 126-seat concert hall featuring a large LED screen — providing ideal conditions for hosting high-level cultural and educational events.
