Solemn events dedicated to the anniversary of the playwright, poet and journalist, Oralkhan Bokei, are taking place in Almaty. The conference “Or Altaidyn Askak Shyrshysy” dedicated to his life and work was held in the building of the National Library.
The Deputy Akim of Almaty - Arman Kyrykbai, Professor, publicist - Bauyrzhan Zhakyp, and members of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan, including Kadirbek Segizbayev, Beksultan Nurzheke, Ulykbek Yesdaulet, Magira Kozhakhmetova, Alibek Askarov, Amirkhan Mendeke, Bigeldi Gabdullin, Zhussipbek Korgasbek, Toktarbek Magzumov, as well as prominent public figures of the country have attended the conference. The honored worker of Kazakhstan, PhD - Nurdaulet Akysh, delivered the main report of the conference. In addition, the co-speaker was PhD, literary critic, Professor - Gaukhar Baltabayeva; she spoke on the topic “Idea of Independence in the Prose of Oralkhan Bokei”.
“Events on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Oralkhan Bokei began in the writer’s homeland. We held a creative plein air of artists who were inspired by works of Oralkhan Bokei in Katon-Karagay, opened the writer’s house-museum in Shyngystai. The conference dedicated to the anniversary of the writer was held in Astana. Today the celebrations continue in Almaty,” Daulet Ashimbek, the member of the organizing committee for the 80th anniversary of Oralkhan Bokei, said.
In addition, the creative heritage of the writer was noted at the conference. “We have always read works of Oralkhan Bokei with great pleasure. He is the pride and memory of the whole of Kazakhstan,” the niece of the writer, Klara Nurzhakypkyzy, said. She also expressed gratitude for the state-level support of the solemn events that started in the writer’s native region.
“We decided to hold the 80th anniversary of Oralkhan Bokei in the republic. From the native land of the writer, the solemn events reached Almaty. Every event held here is a great responsibility for us. In addition to the conference, a republican aitys is planned in Almaty. We are waiting for everyone on September 30 at the Alatau Theater,” Serik Zhunussov, the Head of the Sustainable Rural Development Fund said.
The exhibition of books and paintings “Tor Altai Boyaulary” is being held within the framework of the conference. The exhibited paintings were created by the artists in the plein air, which was held in August during the celebration of the writer’s anniversary in his homeland, in Katon-Karagay.
