The project “Rural School Powered by NIS” is a partnership project of the Education Sustainable Development Fund and Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools AEO, launched in 2019 with the aim of providing affordable quality education in rural areas. AITAS Holding represented by Serik Tolukpaev acted as the initiator of the project and sponsor.
The program is aimed at reducing the gap in the quality of education between urban and rural areas. The main areas of work are the transfer of modern teaching technologies from the partner of NIS AEO and the renewal of the material base of rural schools according to increased standards.
The charity program “Developing the potential of hub schools in rural areas”. The project is being implemented jointly with Kazakhstan Khalkyna fund and Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools AEO during the 2022-2023 academic year. As part of the project, work was carried out on the analysis of the quality of education and monitoring of student progress, inventory of school equipment and modernization of the material and technical base of participating schools, technical inspection of school buildings, as well as post-project support. To modernize the material base of schools, the Kazakhstan Khalkyna fund allocated KZT4.25 billion (KZT249.8 million per school), in turn, ESDF financed the administrative and operational costs of the project. The project covered 13 716 students and 1 582 teachers in 17 support schools.
