An amazing library with co-working space and a family area was opened in a secondary school in the village of Uryl, Katon-Karagay district, East Kazakhstan region.

This school has been participating in the educational project "Rural School Powered by NIS" since 2021. The project is implemented by SRDF together with NIS.

Uryl village itself is located 133 km from the regional center and 283 km from Ust-Kamenogorsk. There are 157 children studying in the rural school. This unique library was created for them, their teachers and parents. The family zone was specially equipped so that books and magazines were read not only by schoolchildren, but by all residents of Uryl.

The SRDF team is currently working on launching new subject rooms and a library in three rural schools. We will keep you posted on the news about each of the projects.
